Summer/Fall Fundraiser Coming Soon

I am excited because next month I am going to share with you information about our new summer/fall fundraising event called 'Miles for Meals'. Details are still being crafted but let me tell you what I can at this time. To do so we need to go back to 2024 and my biking adventures. I got to talking with Steve, the Open Hands Midway Cook, about how cool it could be to put my biking efforts toward a good cause, Open Hands Midway. The plan is I will ride my bike during the months of May, June, July, August, September and October with a goal of 3,000 miles. People will be able to make financial contributions based on mileage which will equate to a specific number of meals provided at our meal programs. The food shelf program continues to see an increase in the number of guests making use of this program. In 2024 our food shelf use increase 48%! Clearly the need is great and obviously we will continue to do all we can to provide this vital service to our neighbors in need. Our food shelf is always accepting non-perishable food items and personal care products. For a list of our most current needs please click here. March is Minnesota Food Share month. It is our hope that you will not only think about how you can support us but that you will share this with your friends and neighbors looking for a great way to make a difference in the lives of people who are struggling to feed themselves or their families, just sayin'...
